Samuel Earl Whitley

Mr. Samuel Earl Whitley, age 50, of Hiddenite, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, Atrium Health Main in Charlotte.

He was born November 30, 1970, in Iredell County, the son of Donnie Whitley and Carol P. Whitley.

Samuel loved God and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Statesville. He was employed with FWCC as a truck driver. He enjoyed his time spent with his family. He loved to cook and grill for his family and friends. He would always be there and lend a hand to anyone in their time of need.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Robert Pitts, Jr. and Lori Ann Pitts.

Those left to cherish his memory include: his spouse, Sandra Whitley; daughters, Amber Mealer of Statesville, Kayla Bass of Hiddenite, honorary daughter, Kimberly Weatherman; son, Dillon Whitley of Statesville; stepmother, Nancy Whitley of Wilkesboro; Samuel’s twin sister, Selina Whitley Semones; sister, Deborah Lynn Jones; brother, Dwayne Pitts and wife, Diane Pitts.

The family will receive friends 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service at Pisgah United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Pisgah United Methodist Church, 488 Hill Farm Road, Hiddenite. Rev. Frank Turner will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family cemetery at 151 Martin Farm Lane, Hiddenite.
