Betty Ann Gregory

Ms. Betty Ann Gregory, age 71, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Betty was born April 30, 1950, in Alexander County, the daughter of Roland Wellman and Hazel Maude Gregory and Eugene King.
She attended Happy Plains High School. Betty had worked over 40 years in the healthcare field as a LPN, CNA, and a home caretaker before retiring. She enjoyed thrifting, yard sales, and shopping. Most of all, her favorite pastime was being with her family and loved ones.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Willie Ann Philips; brothers, Robert and Joseph Gregory.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her children, Larissa Cunningham of Ohio, Rodney Teague of NC, April Teague of Ohio; the father of her children, Larry Teague (Francina Teague); bonus sons, Samyell Terry and Ricardo Ellerbee; a brother, Marvin Gregory; grandchildren, Anthone Teague (Jennifer Teague), Shala Thompson (Montelle Thompson), Tyanna Campbell, Paris Hammonds, Kaydence Powell; great-grandchildren, Jykese Thompson, Saniyah Thompson, McKenna Teague; Kiera Thompson; nieces and nephews, Anthony Phillips, Sabrina Gregory, Rhonda Gregory, Sandy Bennett, Jay Phillips, Keisha Gregory, Don Sunderland; special friends and honorary mentions in her life, Janice Gilliam, Laronya Teague, Creola Jones, and James (Doug) Teague.

The celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Elliot Boston and Rev. Anthony Carter will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.

    My heart aches for her children! I know she LOVED them dearly.April…your name was mentioned a lot.She loved you guys!!! Betty was a good friend.We had good times working together.She was Fun and a joy to be around.No more suffering Betty!!! Riparadise!!

      I met Ms. Betty once over her daughter Aprils house while doing a pedicure. Very sweet lady! My heart goes out to the entire family. May God strengthen and comfort you during your moments of grief. Much love 💕

    Ms. Betty& i worked together years ago at the Lutheran home hickory west her granddaughter Anthone worked in dietary at the time THEY both were great people!! ms. Betty as I called her was my buddy!!!! I kept her laughing she mentored me i was a new cna in 2003 I worked there until 2007! She could do it all! She was always stylish and put together ❤!! She absolutely ADORED HER FAMILY! She mentioned her daughter April and all of her other children&grandchildren often!! You could tell that family was important to her. I would see her out and about over the years after we no longer worked together and I was always met with a hug & greeted warmly by her we were always happy to see each other.
    I know she will be missed i loved that sweet lady! I’m praying for your familys strength Rest peacefully ms. Betty i love you lady!!
