Dr. Jeffrey Peal

Dr. Jeffrey Peal, 57, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly in Ohio on Monday, July 19, 2021, due to an automobile accident.

He was born June 12, 1964, in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of the late Charles Peal and Muriel Peal Coleman and step-father, Richard Coleman.

He graduated from River Local High School, West Liberty State College (undergraduate), and Gardner-Webb University where he earned a Masters in School Administration and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

He retired from the State of North Carolina after a successful career including high school teacher and coach for 13 years, principal and assistant principal for seven years, and at the Alexander County Schools Central Office serving as Executive Director of Human Resources, Associate Superintendent, and Interim Superintendent for a total of nine years. He was currently serving as the principal “PrinciPeal” of Millersville Christian Academy.

He currently attended Millersville Baptist Church and was very active in service for the Lord. For many years, he served as a deacon and teacher. He loved coastal fishing, especially at Portsmouth Island, and turkey hunting. He enjoyed Ohio State football and the sport of wrestling, but serving Jesus and spending time with family were his greatest joys.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his wife of 31 years, Renee Royall Peal of the home; his children, Savannah Wilson (Ryan), Baylee Sigmon (Seth), all of Taylorsville, and Elijah Peal of the home; he was lovingly known as Pop to his grandchildren, Ivy, Grant and Hudson Wilson, and Adalynn Sigmon; siblings, Bill Marling (Kim) of Ohio, and Lisa Wood (Thom) of Conover; half-brothers, Jim Peal of Indiana, and Chuck Peal of Ohio; nieces, Jennifer Feaster (Josh), Michelle Marling, Brea Delbert, and Katelyn Wood; nephews, Ryan Marling (Rachel), and Michael Marling; great-nieces, Iris Delbert and Riley Alkire; and great-nephew, Sean Alkire.

The family will receive friends at Millersville Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and also from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Millersville Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Orren, Rev. Mitch King, and Rev. Brian Kerley will officiate.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Millersville Christian Academy, 130 Millersville Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
