Artis June Lail

Artis June Lail, 89, of Taylorsville, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Catawba Valley Assisted Living at Rock Barn.

Artis was born on January 20, 1932. He was the son of Roby Lee Lail and Barbara Lou Duncan. He met his wife of 62 years, Vivian Frances Lail, while working at Valdese Weavers. They were married on December 16, 1958.

In addition to farming, Artis was a general contractor and mason. For many years, he built and remodeled homes in the surrounding counties.

Artis was known, most of all, as a loyal and faithful minister. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 23, 1961, and attended the Taylorsville Congregation. He worked tirelessly in the ministry teaching people about the blessings of God’s Kingdom and helping build many Kingdom Halls. He was a kind and loving elder in the congregation, always willing to help someone in need.
Young and old alike were drawn to Artis because of his gentle nature and quick wit. He was loved by so many, and he will be missed.
