Barry Dean Barnes, 62, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Barry was born March 30, 1959, in Alexander County, the son of the late Homer Barnes and Hazel Dagenhart Barnes.
He was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and served as a deacon and groundskeeper. He enjoyed camping and was always working on something. He loved and enjoyed his family. Most of all, he loved the Lord.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Millsaps; his nephew, Brian Millsaps; mother-in-law, Helen Wade; and father-in-law, Kenneth Wike.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his wife of 43 years, Tammy Wike Barnes; his daughter, Tanya Perkins (Jody) of Stony Point; his son, Kevin Barnes (Misty) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Kolby Barnes, Macy Barnes, and Eli Perkins; his sisters, Linda Moore (Marshall) of Winston-Salem, Nancy Randolph (Clarence) of Burnsville, and Ellen Smith of Taylorsville; brothers, Wayne Barnes (Claudette) of Stony Point, and Andy Barnes (Cinda) of Taylorsville; brother-in-law, Bradley Millsaps of Taylorsville; sister-in-law, Paula Johnson (Wayne) of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Rocky Face Baptist Church. Rev. Ryan Hodges will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
