Electa Mae Mecimore

Electa Mae Mecimore

“Heaven is better by far” and “Be thankful and praise Him” are the words that Electa Mae lived by and taught her family to hold close to their hearts.

On October 12, 2021, Electa Mae Mecimore arrived at her heavenly home at the age of 95. She is reunited with her parents, Mose Chapman and Maggie Jeannette (Toy) Chapman; husband, Clyde Mecimore; son, Guy Mecimore; and grandson, Benjamin Jolly.

Her children include Patsy Bumgarner, Kaye Jolly, and Larry Mecimore. She was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren and great-grandmother of eight.

Electa Mae’s encouragement came from her strong faith in God. She was a prayer warrior for her family, always encouraging them to never complain, make good decisions, and do the right thing according to the Bible. She was slow to criticize but quick to encourage, always teaching her family to be slow to anger and to be humble.

Her laugh was contagious and she was always smiling, encouraging others to be positive and always remain happy. Her can-do attitude was displayed throughout her life as she faced difficult situations with perseverance and courage.

She was the manager of her home through raising four children, raising chickens, milking cows, managing rental properties, selling cars, mobile homes, and working as a seamstress for 40 years making clothes for her children.

She played many roles throughout her life, but her favorite job was being a grandmother. Her small hands showed every battle, scar and love, from when she held her babies, wore her wedding ring proudly, and when she held her grandchildren close to her heart. Electa Mae’s hands will always do one thing best: worship her Lord and teach others what it means to live a life full of God’s love for His children.

There are not enough words to describe the heart of gold that Electa Mae had. She was truly an angel walking on Earth who is now spreading her wings in the hands of Jesus, who holds the only scars in Heaven.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Liledoun Baptist Church Cemetery. Her body will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021, at Adams Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Medi-Home Hospice in Taylorsville.

Condolences may be sent to www.adamsfunerals.com.
