Minnie Mae (Biddy) Rodgers, 96, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
She was born on March 6, 1925, in Charlotte, the daughter of Ollie and Mae Biddy.
Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband, Frank (after 50 plus years of marriage); her son, Leslie; her sister, Margie; her brother, George; and her step-son, Frank. She was the oldest of four siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Johnny) Barker; step-son, Fred Rodgers; siblings, Bertha Allen; grandchildren, Karen (John) Hall, Michelle (Dave) Hope, Michael Rodgers, Theresa (Ty) Hudson, Jeff Rodgers, Shelly Rodgers, and Corie Otto; and numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1942. She moved to Florida following graduation and began working at a local bakery in Jacksonville, Florida. She had numerous other jobs but ended her career at May Cohens Department Store after 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to the beach and doing crossword puzzles.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The visitation will be held at the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home located at 1426 Rowe Avenue, Jacksonville, FL, at 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. The burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery located at 4535 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL, immediately following the service.
