Billy Minton

Billy Minton, 79, of Moravian Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at his home.

Billy was born on June 14, 1942, in Wilkes County, to Russell Edgar Minton and Mary Virginia Minton.

Billy enjoyed making others laugh, spending time with family, working on cars, and making BBQ chicken.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou Tart Minton; daughters, Susan Minton and Billie Lynn Minton Segraves; brothers, Ralph and Edwin Minton; and a grandson, Aaron Johnson.

Billy is survived by his daughters, Pamela Minton Thomas and husband Scott of Boomer, and Lisa Minton Reed and husband David of Moravian Falls; sisters, Patsy Johnson and husband Thomas of Wilkesboro, Ruth Jones and husband Bobby, Evelyn Eller and husband Odell “Blu”, and Hazel Lawnmore, all of Moravian Falls; brother, Dean Minton of Moravian Falls; eight grandchildren, Scottie, Olin, William, Thomas, Crystal, Jennifer Reed, Brittany Johnson, and Ashley Petitt; and 14 great-grandchildren, Haiden Thomas, Lexi Thomas, Clay Thomas, RJ Thomas, Leeanna Thomas, Abby Royal, Kaylynne Reed, Michael Reed, Daylin Reed, Colbie Moore, Zeb Davidson, Kinsley Johnson, Jackson Petitt, and Steven Petitt, and two more expected soon.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel at 2109 Moravian Falls Road, Moravian Falls. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel. Burial will follow in the Moravian Falls Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Minton and Rev. Marc Benfield will be officiating.
