Crystal Sweet

Crystal Sweet went to be with Jesus on August 2, 2022. Her loss is deeply felt.

She was born April 3, 1956, the daughter of Charles Eugene and Minnie Gentle. Crystal was a loving and generous soul who loved Jesus. She loved her family.

She is survived by her son, Daniel Wilkinson; her grandchildren, Amy Broyles and Victoria Church; her sisters, Lydia Marlene Stewart, Teresa Lynn Gentle, Annette Adams, and Tammy Alderidge; her nieces, Rebecca Eaton, Jennifer Smith, Melanie Cranford, Jessica Ruiz, and Samantha Tilley; and her nephews, Billy James Starnes and Jeremiah York.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Gentle, and sister, Paula Odette York.

We look forward to our reunion on the sea of fire and glass. The family is having a private service and gathering.

    I cannot remember a time when I did not know Crystal. She was my friend, my confidant, my employee and my ward. She was reliable, responsible, courageous, empathetic and thankful – always thankful. God’s speed, Crystal. You will be missed. Until we meet again, I will pray for Daniel and your entire family – I only came to know your family through you and your kindnesses to them. I love you my dear friend and every day forward brings me a day closer to seeing you again.

    Crystal was a perfect aunt. She was more like a mother to me. We would go to yard sales practically every weekend. We ate at a lot of Chinese restaurants. I was by her side for almost all of my childhood and teen years. I looked up to her because she was my Crystal. She was there for me when I needed her. When she saw that I lacked, she would make up the difference. She loved with her whole heart. She is missed greatly.

    Crystal lived next door to us in the late 80s when I was a kid. Hands down the best neighbor EVER! She was always so nice and welcoming. She never sent me home empty handed. We kept in touch after she moved away for a time, I remember getting to visit her and hang out with her for an afternoon around Christmas and we made the powdered sugar coated cereal stuff in a paper bag and she sent me home with a literal bucket of it. I just had some at a friend’s house this past Monday, August 1st and thought of her. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

    “There’s something God has given us,
    That’s more than family;
    He’s placed a love for you, my dear Sister,
    Deep down in the heart of me.”
    ❤️🙏❤️
