Richard Dean Combs

Richard Dean Combs, 63, of Stony Point, passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2023.

Rick was born August 10, 1959, in Alexander County, to the late Jones Cleveland (JC) Combs and Carrie (Ms. Marie) Barlow Combs of Stony Point. Rick loved baseball and he was a Gator fan. Jeff Gordan was his favorite race car driver. Rick worked in construction and was a member of Stony Point Tabernacle.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherri Coleman Combs, and a sister, Judy Bumgarner.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Justin Combs (Candice) of Stony Point; two daughters, Kellie Combs of Stony Point, and Christine Moose and husband Dustin of Hiddenite; three brothers, Gary Combs, Steve Combs, and Jody Combs, all of Stony Point; a sister, Debra Haddix and husband James of Florida; and four grandchildren, Blake Combs, Zoey Moose, Kaylee Moose, and William Moose.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship. Rev. Chuck Hager and Rev. Wesley Hammer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow at Stony Point Cemetery.
