Arnold Wayne Hight
Arnold Wayne Hight, 81, of Taylorsville, passed onto his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Wilkes Medical Center in North Wilkesboro.
He was born July 12, 1941, in Alexander County, the son of the late Mildred Ferguson Hight Mullis and Edward Hight.
He was a US Army National Guard veteran who served from 1958 until 1964. He was a truck driver for many years and retired from Clayton Marcus Furniture in 2006. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. He loved his ’65 Ford, his trucks, the Atlanta Braves, the outdoors, playing Rook, and watching Westerns, but most of all, he loved his family.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special aunt and uncle, Christine and Herb Elder, and another special aunt, Laura Sherrill.
Those left to cherish and honor memories include his wife of 59 years, Melva Jo Davidson Hight; his daughter, Susan Hight Fox and husband Jody; his grandsons, Christopher Fox and wife Kaylee, and Jeremy Fox and wife Elizabeth; a special brother-in-law, Ronald Davidson and wife Katherine; his nephews, Jamie Davidson and wife DeAnn, Michael Davidson and wife Mitzi, and their families; a special life-long friend, Wayne Bebber and wife Carol; and a great-grandchild due in September.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2023, at Jolly Cemetery. Pastor Keith Childers will officiate. In case of rain, the service will be held in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home.
