Albert William Flowers

Albert William Flowers, 79, of Taylorsville, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Valley Nursing Center.

He was born March 12, 1943, in Hickory, the son of the late Clifford Frank and Alice Whittington Flowers.

He had worked in concrete, furniture, and janitorial. He was a lifelong member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Albert was known for his love for gospel music, fishing, all things antique, photography, and videography. He had been the family historian for years due to his love of capturing family memories. He loved people and people loved him!

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Allen Kent Flowers; sister-in-law, Betty Flowers; and his nephew, Lee Gary Mayes.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Howard Flowers (Shirley) and Edsel Flowers; his sisters, Clara Mayes (Jerry), Linda Davis, and Helen Flowers (honorary sister); special friends, Michael and Jay Parsons, and Everette Dula; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

The funeral service celebrating Albert’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Pastor William Little will be officiating and Pastor Elliott Boston will be the Eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the service. The body will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home.
