Cainie Alan Bumgarner

Cainie Alan Bumgarner, 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Forsyth County.

He was born on Monday, June 14, 1943, in Alexander County, to the late Arthur Atwell Bumgarner and Fannie Barnes Bumgarner. Mr. Bumgarner proudly served in the United States Army. During his working career, he was a supervisor at Taylor King. Cainie was a member of Little River Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He enjoyed fishing and antique cars.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Vivian Lackey, Shirley Watts, Janie Sprinkle, Hilda Mash, Nancy Walker, and Esther White; brothers, Barnes Bumgarner and Wade Bumgarner; and son-in-law, Rev. Steven Bumgarner.

Those left to cherish the memories of Cainie include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Jones Bumgarner; daughter, Julie Sipek (Woody); son, Thomas Bumgarner; step-daughter, Cindy Bumgarner; special adopted daughter and son, Tammy and Mike Rogers; sister, Donna Bumgarner Rhyne (Chris); a grandson, CJ Sipek; four granddaughters, Courtney Bumgarner, Kelsey Sink, Carey Mitchell, and Donna Sipek; eight great-grandchildren, Livi Carter, Lucas Brown, Elijah Mitchell, Hunter Sink, Peyton Brown, Lilly Mitchell, Skylar Sipek, and Callianna Butner; and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2023, at Little River Baptist Church from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, March 31, 2023, at Little River Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Tanner Mundy and Rev. Eddie Jolly will officiate.

CJ Sipek, Cory Winkler, AJ Langley, Mike Rogers, David Shull, and Richard Mash will serve as pallbearers.

Nephews of Cainie will serve as honorary pallbearers, Rex Bumgarner, Jeffrey “Quince” Watts, P-Nut White, and Todd Bumgarner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, 321 W Main Ave, Taylorsville, NC 28681; Little River Ruritan Club, 2141 Little River Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681; or St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
