Shirley Anne Coffey Teeters

Shirley Anne Coffey Teeters

On the evening of Monday, April 3, 2023, Shirley Anne Coffey Teeters took a bad fall at home and fell into the loving arms of Christ, where there is no pain, no more tears, no more death, neither sorrow or crying.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Wayne Teeters; three daughters, Dr. Malinda Teeters Pennington and husband Dr. Kevin Pennington, Wendy Teeters, and Cheryl Teeters; two grandsons, Nathaniel Pennington and Liam Pennington and fiancée Jessie Himes; sister, Susan Coffey Thomas and husband Scott; numerous nieces and nephews; and her “adopted” sons, Alan Penley, Chris Ackerman, Tim Fox, and Wayne Earp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Mary Ellen McLeod Coffey, and her brother, Kenneth George Coffey.

Shirley was a devoted wife, parent, and grandparent. She earned her grant-writing certificate, life and health insurance licenses, real estate agent and broker’s license, and was a licensed day-care operator. Shirley loved to paint, sew, and knit, especially to create gifts for her loved ones. She never met a stranger.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bill Strum and Rev. Myron Davis. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the church.

Flowers may be sent to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 3702 16th St NE, Hickory, NC 28601. (Please arrange all deliveries to be received no later than 2 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2023).
