Herman Dorta Jr.

Herman Dorta Jr., 79, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

He was born to the late Herman Dorta and Hilda Piloto Dorta on Saturday, July 10, 1943, in the Bronx, New York. Mr. Dorta served in the United States Navy. Herman was baptized, along with his wife, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 3, 1977. He worked for the Miami and Orlando fire departments as a fireman, engineer, and EMT.

Those left to cherish the memories of Herman include his wife, Paula Dorta; his children, Daphne Gyorok, Kevin Clark, and Shannon Dorta; and brother, Emile “Butch” Dorta.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Taylorsville, at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be with the family.
