Hazel Barnette Bradshaw

Hazel Barnette Bradshaw
Hazel Barnette Bradshaw, 105, of Hiddenite, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday morning, June 6, 2023, at Taylorsville House Memory Care in Taylorsville.
Hazel was born August 28, 1917, in Alexander County, to the late Ed Barnette and Nora Baker Barnette. Hazel was a long-time faithful member of Hiddenite Baptist Church. She loved her church and her Lord with all her heart.
Hazel was a gentle and kind person who enjoyed the simple joys in life. She spent most of her life being a homemaker and made a difference in so many children’s lives that she babysat and loved over the years.
Hazel loved her flowers and plants and watching the birds. She loved spending time with her family, vacations, concerts, going on “adventures,” and just sitting on the porch at the lake looking at the water and holding her “grand dog,” Ruthie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Foy Bradshaw, two of her children, Ricky Bradshaw and Geraldine Stewart, and all of her siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Maxine Warren, Hilda Bunton and husband Jay, Venida Stewart and husband Stan, Jolene Moose and husband David, and son-in-law, Dee Stewart. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Friday, June 9, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., at Hiddenite Baptist Church. Pastor Zach Deal and Dan Spears will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, June 9, 2023, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., at Hiddenite Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Taylorsville House for all the special care, love, and support they showed Mom and us during her exactly one-year stay and during the last few days of Hazel’s life. Also, we would like to say thank you to Hospice for all their help and care.
