Lucy Prichard Combs

Lucy Prichard Combs, 75, of North Wilkesboro, departed to be with her Lord on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.

Mrs. Combs was born July 1, 1947, in Alexander County, to Carl L. and Mary Edith Kerley Prichard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry F. Combs, Sr.; sons, Jerry F. “George” Combs, Jr. and Jeffery Lynn “Jeff” Combs; three sisters; and seven brothers.

She is survived by her sisters, Nora P. Johnson and Nell Rose P. Jones; her brother, Parks L. Prichard (Cindy); and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Lucy attended Hiddenite High School and was a member of the 1965 graduation class. She retired from Tyson Foods in Wilkesboro and Avante Nursing Center. She had a big, loving, and forgiving heart and was kind to animals.

A service to celebrate Lucy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Miller Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tony Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, prior to the service.
