Hazel Wike Starcher
Hazel Wike Starcher, 72, of Statesville, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at her home.
She was born November 22, 1950, in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Gayton Wike and Kathryn Deal Wike.
Earlier in life, she worked as a beautician at Wayside Beauty Shop and later became a substitute teacher for Iredell County Schools and secretary at Wayside Elementary. She was of the Lutheran faith and loved her dog, Mickey.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Dale Starcher.
Those left to cherish and honor her memories include her daughter, Jennifer Starcher of Hickory; her brothers, Mykl Wike (Jason Sandborn) of Statesville, James Wike (Bert) of Charleston, South Carolina; special nephew, Chris Wike; her grand-cats, Turbo, Wrex, Buddy, and Echo; and a number of cousins and friends.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Salem Lutheran Church in Taylorsville.
