Leslie Herman Thompson
On the morning of August 23, 2023, Leslie Herman Thompson left this world for her heavenly home at the age of 58.
Leslie was born on October 2, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Ernest and Jane Herman.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Donnie Thompson; granddaughter, Aderionna Vosburg; sister, Robin Warren; half-sister, Nancy E. Herman; brother, Ernest Herman Jr.; and mother-in-law, Ann Coggins.
In life, Leslie embraced a life devoted to her Christian faith. Her light touched many lives and her memory will forever shine brightly. Second only to her Savior, Leslie lived a life lovingly devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and all those who needed love.
She wholeheartedly embraced compassion and justice for all, leading to her decision to pursue a career in the criminal justice field. She obtained a master’s degree in forensic psychology from Rasmussen University. In her later years, she found pleasure in working at Piedmont Composite and Tool in Taylorsville.
Left to carry on Leslie’s sweet memory are her beloved sisters, Terri McCrary and Michelle Herman; her brothers, Keith and Brian Herman; her cherished children, Stephanie Dinsmore (Bo Dinsmore), Chrissy Cooper (Shawn Cooper), Brandy Sharpe (Levi Chapman), Tiffany Dunn (Chuck Dunn), Matthew Thompson (Anna Thompson), Jessica Vosburg, and Erin Gordon; her 19 grandchildren; and a precious great-grandchild.
To honor Leslie’s life and faith, a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at New Life Church located at 46 Warren Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681. The service will commence at 2:00 p.m. and is open to all who wish to share in a time of reverence and reflection.
Leaving a lasting impact through her unwavering love, Leslie’s earthly presence is sincerely missed by her family, friends, and all who were privileged to know her. Let our souls find solace knowing her spirit has been entwined with the divine, basking in eternal peace, wisdom, and grace (Ephesians 4:32). From ashes to divine grace, Leslie’s spirit soars, a guiding beacon for us all.
