Michael Franklin Rockette

Michael Franklin Rockette, 43, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 28, 2023, in Alexander County.

He was born to Everette Rockette Jr. and Rebecca Hollifield on Friday, August 1, 1980, in Catawba County. He worked as a warehouse supervisor for Bassett Furniture.

Michael was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar, riding motorcycles, fishing, and spending time on Lake James. Michael loved spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish the memories of Michael include his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Lackey Rockette; son, Brandon Michael Rockette; father, Everette Rockette Jr.; mother, Rebecca Hollifield; brothers, Eric Rockette and wife Krista, and Matthew Rockette and wife Melanie; and father and mother-in-law, Ron and Ann Lackey.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Alexander Funeral Service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Rev. William Kanupp will officiate.

The family will accept flowers.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.

    Rocket was my friend for a long time he was a good guy loved that guy and he was funny Will miss him

    He was my best friend in highschool. We went to bunker Hill and I’ll always treasure the memories of riding around in that old 4 door Chevelle he had. I wish someone would have told me sooner . I would have been there. I’m sorry I’m just now finding out about this. I still considered him my best friend and always will. See you next time brother. Love you
