Omie Mae Troxell Echerd, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Alexander County.

She was born on Saturday, July 15, 1944, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and grew up in Collinsville, Mississippi.

Those left to cherish the memories of Omie include her husband of 32 years, Donald Echerd; two daughters, Cindy Wilson and Sheila Witherspoon; a son, Curtis Wilson; and a brother, Joe Penton.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Alexander Funeral Service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023, in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Schronce will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.
