Billy “Bill” Eugene Miller, Jr.

Billy “Bill” Eugene Miller, Jr.
Billy “Bill” Eugene Miller, Jr., 72, of Liberty, formerly of Hiddenite, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at AthoraCare Collective Hospice Home in Burlington.
Bill was born February 2, 1951, in Iredell County, to the late Billy Eugene Miller, Sr., and Arlene Hubbard Miller Schultz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Miller.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Hiddenite, living in his grandfather’s farmhouse that he completely remodeled himself. Earlier this year, he and his wife of 31 years moved to Liberty to be closer to family. For more than 40 years, Bill worked as an expert HVAC technician but, in his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Janie.
In years past, he was an avid motorcyclist, until a tornado dropped a tree on his beloved Honda Goldwing. Bill was a staunch believer in his 2nd Amendment rights and had a passion for collecting, shooting, and learning everything there was to know about firearms.
In addition, Bill was a man who could figure out how to fix or build just about anything. Janie came up with projects and, most of the time, Bill figured out how to make them happen. He was an intelligent and generous man – a hard worker with a strong will. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Janie; a son, Joshua Miller; a daughter, Courtney Miller; a step-daughter, Heather Toth and husband Mike of Climax; two grandchildren, Colton Toth and wife Rhianna of Florida, and Brenley Toth of Climax; a sister, Debbie Keever and husband Tim of Hiddenite; a niece, Amber Keever; and a nephew, Matthew Keever and wife Jennifer.
Funeral Services to honor the life of Bill will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2023, in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastor Jason Bost officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in Sparta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to AthoraCare Collective Burlington Campus, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to express many thanks to Robert and Mary Evans, Mike and Heather Toth, and Dori Novak for their love and support during Bill’s illness.
