Robert William Moran Jr., US Marine Veteran, 56, of Taylorsville, hit those streets of gold on two wheels on Monday, October 2, 2023, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Rob was born on May 2, 1967, and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, where he spent most of his life hunting and fishing. Rob and Kathryn were happily married for sixteen years. They moved to NC to be with their daughters, son-in-laws, and grandkids. He was a kind and loving husband, father, and a happy pappy. Rob was always the life of the party, he was a smart man who worked hard but played harder.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ann Moran; his children, Amanda and Travis McCreary, and Leighna and Jesse Powell; his grandkids, Kenzlee McCreary, Amillya Kuehn, Mack (Rooster) McCreary, and Watson (Sonny) Powell; Rob’s parents, Susie and Gary Walter; Kathryn’s parents, Don and Wanda Scott, Patti and Duane Anderson, and Patricia Penrose; a sister, Rose Harris (Frank); a brother, Jeffrey Moran; Kathryn’s siblings, Jerry Solomon, Scott Solomon, and Keith Solomon; ex-wife, Wendy Warren and husband-in-law Adrian Warren; and numerous cousins, a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends which he loved dearly.
Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pap Bob and Grandma Lena; his father, Bob Moran; his younger brother, Bummer Moran; and his father-in-law, Ron Solomon.
