Jean Louise Carrigan Kirksey

Jean Louise Carrigan Kirksey, 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County.

She was born to the late Paul Franklin Carrigan and Sadie Little Carrigan on Tuesday, March 11, 1947, in Alexander County. Mrs. Kirksey was a member of the Pentecostal Church of The Living God in Newton. Jean enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzle books, and talking to people. She loved her family.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kirksey, and a brother, Lee Roy Carrigan.

Those left to cherish the memories of Jean include her sons, Rickie Carrigan (Barbara) and Terry Williams (Tracy); stepdaughters, Susie Witt (Michael) and Peggi Mitchell; grandchildren, Cole and Lexi Carrigan, and Emily Matthews; sister, Glenda Mecimore; step-grandchildren, John Matheson, Jennifer Matthews, Alex Witt (Noelle), and Nikki Witt; step-great-grandchildren, Millicent Dean and Greyson Witt; sister-in-law, Daphne Carrigan; and nieces, Angela Mecimore and Cynthia Mecimore.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be with the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pentecostal Church of The Living God, 731 N Caldwell Ave, Newton, NC 28658.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.

    She was a beautiful and sweet soul always happy always singing she will be deeply missed. This is heartbreaking. Sleep well, my dear friend, the next time you open your eyes, you will see the face of your savior. I love you.
