Partnership for Children welcomes new Director

By ANGELA FARR KING

The Alexander County Partnership for Children (ACPFC) recently welcomed a new director, Mrs. Ashli Elder. Ashli has served as the Early Childhood Support Coordinator for the Partnership since 2017 so she is extremely familiar with the organization. She has also served as Alexander County’s NC Pre-K Program Contact, supporting program implementation and compliance of guidelines. Prior to her role at the ACPFC, Ashli was an NC Pre-K teacher and a Head Start classroom teacher in Alexander County.

Ashli brings with her more than 25 years of experience supporting children, families, and early learning providers in Alexander County. This is what Ashli had to say about her new role at the Partnership for Children, “I’m so excited to be stepping into the role of Executive Director. This work is incredibly close to my heart. Through the Smart Start mission, we’re focused on making sure every child has a strong, healthy start in life by supporting families, strengthening early education, and building a community where young children can truly grow and succeed. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Alexander County’s early childhood community in this new role and look forward to what’s ahead as we continue supporting our youngest learners and their families.”

The ACPFC Board of Directors enthusiastically welcomed Ashli with a reception on May 26, 2026, following their monthly board meeting.
