Beulah Garland Moss

Beulah Garland Moss, 76, of Hickory, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Wellstar Tranquility in Marietta, Georgia.

Beulah was born October 3, 1947, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Wade Parker, Sr. and Sarah Mayes Parker.

Beulah proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. She worked for Duke Energy and later as a counselor for the N.C. Department of Corrections. She was a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Taylorsville. She was a member of the Solid Rock Order of Eastern Stars. She enjoyed studying the Bible and was a lady of many hats who loved gospel music and growing flowers.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony James Moss; sister, Doretha Chew; and brothers, Wade Parker, Jr., Edward Mayes, Sr., and Thomas L. Parker.

Those left to cherish and honor Beulah’s memories include her sons, Zerrick A Garland of Taylorsville, and Sean H. Garland (Denyel) of Marietta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Beronica, Isaiah, Tatyana, and Ki’ana; her sisters, Doris Lewis of Spring Lake, and Helen Parker Chestnut of Taylorsville; her brothers, Jason Parker (Elizabeth) of Hickory, Lindsay Parker (Alice) of Fayetteville, and Curtis Parker (Jennifer) of Decatur, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church on Hwy 90 East of Taylorsville with Rev. Sterling Howard and Rev. Ty Michaux officiating and Jason Parker, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Alexander Veterans Honor Guard. The family received friends from Noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
