Man arrested after throwing large rock at patrol vehicle
On August 12, 2025, the Alexander County 911 Communications Center received a report of a possible domestic disturbance at 195 Eastfield Lane in Taylorsville.
As Deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene, a suspect—later identified as Brock Anthony Rennicker, a 40-year-old white male from Taylorsville—reportedly threw a large rock at a marked patrol vehicle. The rock struck the rear side window of a Dodge Durango, causing significant damage.
Rennicker fled the scene on foot before Deputies could take him into custody. However, he was located and arrested the following day.
Rennicker has been charged with the following offenses:
• One count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
• One count of Assault on a Female.
• One count of Interfering with Emergency Communication.
• One count of Resisting Arrest.
• One count of Damage to Government Property.
• One count of Littering.
He was booked into the Alexander County Detention Center under no bond. A first court appearance in Alexander County District Court was held August 18; the next is Nov. 17.
