CG Equine Services offers guided trail rides

Say, pardner, do you ever get a hankerin’ to hop in the saddle and mosey up a wooded trail? Maybe you need some riding lessons first? If you do, look up Cheyenne Garmon, 24, of Taylorsville.
Cheyenne, an accomplished rider and trophy-winning rodeo cowgirl, offers trail rides and horsemanship lessons through her business, CG Equine Services and MagnaWave Therapy.
Trail rides are done in conjunction with Nelson Rogers, of Rogers Ranch in Ellendale, on about 400 acres. Nelson has known Cheyenne’s father for several years. They met through a horse trainer in Wingate, NC. Cheyenne’s abilities are a natural fit at the Rogers Ranch.
“This land has been in my family over 100 years. My brother, Tim, and I, and our father, Luke, have kept it going,” Nelson said. “Cheyenne does a good putting the word out about trail rides.
There’s not many places like this around anymore. We give God the glory that my grandfather, father, and my siblings have held this place together so many years.”
Cheyenne has been riding since she was old enough to sit up, she noted. She began competing in rodeos at age four! During her teen years, she went multiple times to Nationals in Junior High and High School Rodeos.
After graduating high school, Cheyenne learned advanced horsemanship and worked with cutting horse trainers.
She was originally from the Davidson area and her family then moved to Troutman, but she is now a Taylorsville resident.
Cheyenne has offered riding lessons for eight years and recently began offering trail rides. For the past four years, she has offered MagnaWave therapy for horses, which uses PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) technology in gentle, non-invasive electromagnetic pulses to penetrate cells, tissues, and organs, restoring the body’s natural balance.
Cheyenne said that her favorite thing about horses is the connection between horse and rider and the relationship built between the human and equine.
“Horses are just like people — they have their own personalities,” she explained.
Her mount, Boujee, age 4, is a 16-hand tall Appendix, a mix between Quarterhorse and Thoroughbred.
Cheyenne offers riding lessons for all ages and basic trail rides of one hour or longer, Monday-Thursday and by appointment. Lessons in rodeo events are also available. For more information, check out CG Equine Services and MagnaWave on Facebook to schedule appointments and check current pricing.
