Hometown Christmas continues Thursday, Dec. 19

Taylorsville Hometown Christmas will continue for its third and final night of 2024 on Thursday, December 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Alexander County Courthouse Park at 101 West Main Avenue.

In conjunction with this event, the new Christmas Bingo Challenge/Scavenger Hunt will encourage families to visit downtown businesses; the first 100 families completing five activities across the Bingo Challenge will receive a Christmas ornament (see chart below).

Live music will be offered by Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on the Rotary Performance Stage at 6 p.m. followed by the Studio3 Chorale outside at 54 East Main Avenue at 7 p.m.

Although all the free carriage rides have been reserved (sponsored by Big 6 Properties and Carolina Carriage Company), there will be visits with Santa at the park shelter (sponsored by Tabitha & Co.), meet Santa and an adoptable pet from Alexander County Animal Services at the B86 Santa House (at intersection of West Main Avenue and Main Avenue Drive), a live Nativity by Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, marshmallow roasting (at Town & Country Drug), ornament painting (at Creating On Main), and pop-up shops (at Celebrate You).

Several downtown businesses will remain open for shoppers. In addition, there will be food trucks, including JB’s Rolling Bistro, The Rollin’ Lemon, Carnival Crazy’s, and Johnny’s Pizza. Classic cars and trucks will cruise-in for a cause, sponsored by Alexander Auto.

This is such a neat event. We don’t live in Taylorsville, but happened to drive through and passed by the car show & open businesses. I looked up the town and am so excited to come back and participate with my family next year!
