Judge Marlowe takes Oath of Office

The Honorable Courtney Sloane Marlowe took the Oath of Office on January 1, 2025, at the Alexander County Courthouse to become the newest District Court Judge for Alexander and Iredell counties. Judge Will Long (right) administered the oath to Marlowe (left) with her parents, Amy and Tim, holding the Bible. She was elected in November 2024 upon the retirement of Chief District Court Judge L. Dale Graham. Judge Marlowe is the daughter of Amy and Tim Marlowe, sister of Will Marlowe, and is the granddaughter of Ann and the late Donald Robertson, Joe and Weezie Young, and the late Tommy Marlowe. Judge Marlowe is a 2006 graduate of Alexander Central High School, a 2010 graduate of Campbell University, and 2013 graduate of the N.C. Central Law School. She passed the bar exam in July 2013 and began practicing as an attorney in Alexander County later that year at age 25.
