County Manager resigns
Following Alexander County Manager Todd Herm’s absence during the April 7, 2025, meeting of the Alexander County Commissioners, it was announced that Herms was on leave last week.
On Tuesday, April 22, Commission Chairman Marty Pennell announced that Herms has resigned, effective April 30.
As of press time, an interim county manager has not yet been named.
Reasons for Herms’ resignation have not been announced.
Herms was hired as County Manager effective August 12, 2024, from among 25 applicants, according to a county press release last June.
Herms had 18 years of experience as a municipal manager in North Carolina, having served as the Town Manager for Maiden since July 2008 and the Town Manager for Badin from 2006-2008.
