Rita Bell Watts
Rita Bell Watts, 80, of Crest Knoll Street SE, Taylorsville, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Valley Nursing Center.
Miss Watts was born February 14, 1936, in Alexander County, daughter of the late Chester Field Watts and Mildred Stokes Watts.
She had worked in the textile industry and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Rita loved to cook, enjoyed her flowers, and also loved music.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Carson; a brother, Ernest Hugh Watts; and a grandson, Timothy Watts, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Timothy Allen Watts and wife Karen of Las Vegas, Nevada; a granddaughter, Princess Rowe of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Timothy Rowe, both of Stone Mountain, Georgia; five sisters, Clara Watts, Annette Bruner, Chalma Barker and husband Phillip, and Patricia Watts, all of Taylorsville, and Sharon Glover of Vista, California; two brothers, James Watts and wife Virginia of Charlotte, and Steve Watts and wife Sue of Taylorsville; aunts, Rachel Millsaps and Wilma Stokes, both of Taylorsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
