Clyde Lee Houpe

Clyde Lee Houpe, 94, formerly of Odell Road, Statesville, transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the home of his niece, following a period of declining health.

He was born May 22, 1922, in Iredell County, son of the late Ruben Lee Long and Maggie Mae Houpe.

Mr. Houpe was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from J. C. Steele and Sons. Mr. Houpe was a lifelong member of Logan Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 13, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at Logan Presbyterian Church. Rev. Kaye Ziglar will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Logan Presbyterian Church, 209 Logan New Amity Road, Statesville, NC 28625; or Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road., Statesville, NC 28625.
