Mary Margaret Lockee

Mary Margaret Lockee, 88, of Taylorsville, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 31, 2019 after a period of declining health.

She was born to the late Horace and Ula Towery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Towery.

Margaret lovingly served as the personal secretary to her husband, Rev. James Lockee, and attended Liledoun Baptist Church in Taylorsville. She will always be remembered for her loving, infectious smile.

Those left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Lockee include her husband, Rev. Dr. James R. Lockee of the home; son, Charles R. Lockee of Greensboro; brother, Joe David Towery of Maiden; sister, Barbara Ann Poovey of Maiden; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Margaret will be Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Liledoun Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. Rev. James Lockee and Rev. Jason Payne will be officiating. No formal visitation is planned, and a private burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.

Pallbearers include: Josh Byrd, Josh Pennell, Randy Campbell, Kyle Chapman, Jeremy Bumgarner, and Mark Bumgarner.
