Billie Grace Davis Kerley, 93, of Hiddenite, passed peacefully to her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Trinity Ridge.
Billie was born March 9, 1928, in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late Lewis Davis and Martha Jane Mitchell Davis.
She had worked for Craftmaster Furniture. Following retirement, she worked in the family poultry business. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and crocheting, but in the summer loved her garden and canning those green beans.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Asa June Kerley; six sisters; two brothers; and a great-grandchild.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her children, Mildred Crawford of Greensboro, Ruth Elder (Curt) of Hiddenite, Bruce Kerley (Elaine) of Taylorsville, and Dena Trantham (Greg) of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Daniels and Rev. Durant Barr will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. prior to the service.
The family requests that everyone please wear a mask to all services.
