Joyce Ann Mecimore Bell

Joyce Ann Mecimore Bell, 72, of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021, at her home after an extended illness.

She was born November 28, 1948, to the late Lindsey Eugene Mecimore and Mildred Pauline Land Mecimore. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, cooking shows, westerns, and especially Christmas movies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Gene Bell; a grandson, Jason McCreary; two brothers, Rickey Mecimore and Jerry Mecimore; a sister, Kay Benfield; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Houck.

Survivors include her husband, Troy Gene “Smokey” Bell of the home; two sons, Troy Lynn Bell of Taylorsville, and Michael Wayne Bell (Lori) of Hiddenite; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Lafon and husband Danny of Taylorsville, and Susan Canipe and husband Chris of Taylorsville; two brothers, David Eugene Mecimore (Debbie) of Taylorsville, and Timothy Wayne Mecimore and wife Sandra of Hiddenite; a sister, Jeannie Houck of Hudson; 15 grandchildren, Kristina, Johnathan, Larissa, Kayla, Josh, Emily, Wesley, Dallas, Alyssa, Shana, Tommy, Garrett, Chloe, Elijah, and Silas; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021, at Stony Point Cemetery. Rev. Robert Lafon will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, November 19, 2021, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Chapman Funeral Home prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Chris Canipe, Josh McCreary, Tommy Bell, Garrett Bell, Brandon Deal, and Caleb Teague.

Memorials may be given to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr, Tampa, FL 33607.

Chapman Funeral Home is serving the Bell Family.

    Smokey and family I am sadden to hear of Joyce passing she was my cousin and I loved her like a sister I know she will be missed by all thinking of your family at this difficult time and praying God will comfort all of you ❤️ elaine
