Town Economic Visioning public workshop set June 10

The Town of Taylorsville will hold a Community Economic Visioning Workshop for citizens, business owners, Alexander County and regional partners — in short, everyone — on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Celebrate You, 34 West Main Avenue, in Taylorsville.

What is the economic role you want downtown Taylorsville to play in the greater town, county, and regional economy in the next five years? How can Taylorsville be positioned to strengthen the capacity and successes of the community? What are the tangible projects that the community wants and needs and what path can we take to accomplish them?

The community will come together as neighbors and friends to welcome the North Carolina Main Street and Rural Planning (MS&RP) Center of the N.C. Department of Commerce as they facilitate a proven economic positioning process, built on community consensus and civic leadership.

The Town has requested assistance from MS&RP for an Economic Development Strategic Plan. Leaders need residents’ vision and voices to collectively plan for the future.
