Broken Chains Cycles offering motorcycle repair
Business partners David Barnes, of Harmony in Iredell County, and Terry Jones, of the Ellendale Community in Alexander County, have opened Broken Chains Cycles at 95 Second Avenue North, in Taylorsville.
Their aim is to offer service for Harley-Davidson motorcycles (and select other brands) as well as ATVs and some vehicles.
Barnes, a native of New Jersey, said the aim of the shop is to not only service bikes, but to repair souls by leading customers to the Lord Jesus Christ.
“This is built on faith in God,” Barnes said. “The reason behind this is to reach people and have conversations with them, while we put out fair priced work for the community.”
The shop hosted a Bike Night on June 27 with a big turnout, as a way to meet the community.
Broken Chains Cycles will tithe to local charities aligned with their faith.
The men are members of Disciple Christian Motorcycle Club.
“We want to give glory to God for everything,” Barnes stated.
“It’s about God and it’s about motorcycles. We like to have a good time, but anything that goes against God, we won’t do it,” Jones related.
“This shop is a space where faith and freedom can meet. No pressure. No preaching at you. Just honest work, real conversations, and a chance to leave better than you came in — whether it’s your bike, your spirit, or both,” Barnes stated.
In addition to service, they plan to offer used motorcycle sales beginning in the summer of 2026.
Broken Chains Cycles is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
