James “Norris” Poole
James “Norris” Poole, 72, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at his home.
Norris was born August 7, 1953, in Alexander County, the son of Madia Poole Jones and his step-father, Joe Jones.
Norris was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed socializing with friends, enjoyed cooking, and loved to watch Westerns.
Including his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Barker, and a brother, Rodney Scott.
Those left to cherish and honor Norris’s memories include his sisters, Diane Carlton (Robert) of Wilkesboro, Kimberly Shuford (Robbie) of Taylorsville, and Sandra Lackey of Taylorsville; his brothers, JC Scott of Lenoir and Bryan Jones (Amy) of Taylorsville; and his girlfriend, Rachel McLain.
At Norris’s request, there will be no services.

I’m going to miss Norris a lot i can remember when we worked at my dad’s sawmill and how we used to run the streets to gather I would let him borrow my car to do his running around. He was always the same no matter what. Rest in peace 🙏 until we see one another again my cousin and 🧡 friend.
