“Early Voting” is in-person absentee voting. Early voting provides an all-purpose solution for those seeking to:
• Avoid potential voting delays on election day;
• Vote on convenient days and during non-working hours;
• Avoid any registration conflict that could trigger the necessity of a provisional ballot on election day;
• Update their voter records in their county of registration if they have moved since last voting; or
• Register to vote if not registered in the county (must provide proof of residence).

A NOTE ABOUT SAMPLE BALLOTS:
A majority of contests on the ballot are the same across Alexander County precincts. The exception is Alexander County Board of Education districts. The School Board Districts went from 4 districts to 7 districts. The new school board districts went into effect this summer. The only School Board District on the Primary Ballot is School Board District 2. The precincts that are affected by School Board District 2 are part of Bethlehem 1, part of Bethlehem 2, part of Ellendale and part of Wittenburg Precincts. In these precincts, voters will receive a ballot that includes the Board of Education District 2 if that district is assigned to their address.
