Brenda Ann Triplett Martin, 78, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Carolina Caring in Newton.
Born in Wilkes County on April 10, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Hamp and Della Hendrix Triplett. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and retired as a teacher’s assistant at Bethlehem Elementary School.
She loved her family and friends deeply. She had an unwavering faith and a deep appreciation for her church, where she served in many roles. One of her favorite activities was being a part of the Highland Baptist Joy Makers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Martin, and brothers, Bob Triplett and Ed Triplett. She was also preceded by a nephew, Jamey Martin.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Sharpe and husband Kevin of Statesville; her son, Dustin Martin and wife Ali Suttlemyre of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Hailey Ware and husband Jon of Winston-Salem, Trevor Fry and wife Jackie of Bethlehem, Carter Martin of Bethlehem, Dustin Sharpe and Marisa Hamm of Statesville, and McKenzy Sharpe and Riley Adkins of Carolina Shore; and a great-grandchild, Myers Fry of Bethlehem. She is also survived by a brother, Larry Triplett and wife Jo of Lenoir; a sister, Wanda Anderson and husband Bobby of Lenoir; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie Martin and husband Jim of Bethlehem; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Highland Baptist Church on Thursday, June 18, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jeff Myers and Rev. Kenny Robison officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery of Hickory.
Pallbearers will be Jon Ware, Trevor Fry, Carter Martin, Carson Hoyle, Jamison Hackney, Davis Hackney, Dustin Sharpe, and Rob Dickerson.
The family would like to thank her many special friends, caregivers, neighbors, and the staff of Carolina Caring.
