Nancy Faye Adams Watson, age 87, of Taylorsville passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her residence. She was born on January 25, 1931, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Harvey and Florence Mayberry Adams.
During her career, she was part owner at Watsons of Taylorsville and had worked in accounting for Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams. Nancy was a member at Mt. Herman Baptist Church for over 60 years and served as a children’s Sunday School teacher and nursery worker through the years. Her life was involved around her family. She had a special love for each and everyone of them, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Frank Watson; brothers Allie, Ruben, Grady, & Paul Adams; one infant brother; sisters Nellie Gilland, Lois Sharpe, and Christine Harris; and grandchild Angie Watson Alexander.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Alan Watson & wife Patricia and Steve Watson and wife Kelly; daughter Amy Fox and husband Craig; sisters Josephine Millsaps and husband Tom and Patty Payne and husband the late Roger Payne; grandchildren Emily Fox and husband Doug, Lee Watson and wife Julie, Michael Watson, Brooke Poole and husband Delwin, Christen Reece and husband Harold, Alex Watson and wife Jess, and Anna Beth Lackey and husband Desmond; great-grandchildren Andrew and Bryant Fox; Margot and Finn Watson; MaKayla, Malachi, and Mariah Poole; Landon and Lindsey Reece; Charlie Watson; and Brenston and Adaline Lackey; and special niece Kim Payne.
The family received friends on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Herman Baptist Church. The funeral service followed at 3:30 pm with the Rev. Paul Schronce and Rev. Gary Jennings officiating. Burial followws in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Alexander at 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
