Betty Faye Hamby Teague

Betty Faye Hamby Teague, 69, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Betty was born September 20, 1956, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Hamby, Sr. and Dorothy Lucille Hager.

Betty was a waitress and cook for Tiny Diner, a cook for Shubob’s, and also worked in the furniture industry. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved arranging flowers and building bird houses.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Teague.

Those left to cherish and honor Betty’s memories include her daughter, Tammy Bowman (Ritchie) of Taylorsville; her grandchildren, Haley Benfield (Dalton) and Jennifer Tipton (Shelbe’a Smith); her great-grandchildren, Kayzley, Blayden, Kenzley, and Brayden; her siblings, Barbara Hall (Terry) of Wilkes County, Robert Hamby, Jr. of Taylorsville, Billy Hamby (Ann) of Statesville, and Janet Hager of Catawba County; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

No services are planned at this time. Betty’s wishes were to donate her body to science.
