Judy Elaine Cook Fletcher

Judy Elaine Cook Fletcher, 77, of the Brushy Mtn. community, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at her home.

Mrs. Fletcher was born June 30, 1947, in Alexander County to King Darius and Maggie Millsaps Cook.

Judy was a member and music director at New Hope Baptist Church for more than 20 years. Mrs. Fletcher was previously employed with the Wilkes County School system as an assistant school teacher. She loved music and singing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda McClain, and daughter-in-law, Beverly Fletcher of Hiddenite.

Judy is survived by her spouse, Don Fletcher of the Brushy Mtn community; sons, Jonathan Fletcher and Joseph Fletcher, both of the Brushy Mtn. community, and Daniel Fletcher of Alexander County; granddaughter, Kylie Fletcher of the Brushy Mtn. community; sister, Betty Lovette of Alexander County; and brother-in-law, Jerry McClain of Hiddenite.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Church in Moravian Falls with Pastor Tom Vannoy officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at New Hope Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service.
