Michael Wade Caldwell
Michael Wade Caldwell, 69, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Carolina Caring in Newton.
He was born on Tuesday, September 7, 1955, in Iredell County. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend with a warm spirit and generous heart that touched the lives of many.
Throughout his working life, Michael spent his career as an upholsterer, skillfully crafting beautiful furniture pieces at Hancock & Moore and later at Paladin Furniture. His craftsmanship was not just a job; it was a passion that highlighted his attention to detail and creativity.
Michael found immense joy in the company of his family, who meant the world to him. He cherished spending time with them and created countless memories that will be held dear by those who loved him. His hobbies included riding his Harley, hosting friends for lively pool parties, and passionately collecting antiques, each item serving as a testament to his appreciation for history and craftsmanship.
Those left to cherish Michael’s memory and who will remember him fondly include his son, Brandon Pennell; his mother, Bobbie Caldwell; his brother, Brad Caldwell; his niece, Emily C. Yoder; his nephew, Landon Caldwell; and two great-nieces and a great-nephew.
Preceding him in death were his father, Wade Caldwell, and his son, Jason Lynn Caldwell.
The visitation to honor Michael’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Service, located at 193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC, 28681. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Oxford Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers.
Michael’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will remember his kindness, laughter, and the special moments that defined his life. His memory will forever remain cherished by all who knew him.
