Wendell “Keith” Allen
Wendell “Keith” Allen, 74, born on August 14, 1951, in Alexander County, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the Valley Nursing Center in Alexander County. A devoted family man and a cherished member of his community, Keith lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and a deep love for those around him.
A man of varied interests, Keith was also a karate instructor, a role through which he inspired and mentored many. His enthusiasm for life extended beyond that, as he thoroughly enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. A passionate Redskins fan, he embraced his hobbies with genuine enthusiasm, revealing a lively and spirited character.
Keith cherished spending time with his family, holding dear the moments they shared together. He is survived by his loving son, Jason Allen (Emmy), and grandson, Fletcher Allen. His stepchildren, Devon Sigmon (Jenna) and Kelsea Holmes (Zack), also carry forward his legacy of love. Keith’s warmth extended to his step-grandchildren, Solomon Sigmon, Thaddeus Sigmon, Haus Holmes, and Cash Holmes, as well as to several nieces and nephews whose lives he touched profoundly. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, Craig Allen, and his wife, Kay.
Keith was predeceased by his parents, George and Virginia Caldwell Allen, and his brothers, Gray Allen and Robert Allen.
The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Keith’s memory during a visitation at Rocky Springs Methodist Church, located at 4211 Rocky Springs Rd, Hiddenite, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Following this, a Celebration of Life will be held at the same location at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Jerry Rogers and Pastor Craig Allen will officiate.
The family will accept flowers.
Keith’s life was one of heartfelt devotion—to family, faith, and community. His memory remains a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him, reminding us of the enduring power of love and dedication.
