Matheson Park playground to close for upgrades

Effective November 7, 2024, the playground area at Matheson Park, in Taylorsville, is closed to the public due to safety hazards during maintenance and upgrades. School Board will be partisan elections soon

The method of election of the Alexander County Board of Education will be partisan elections, starting in the next election cycle, after a referendum passed on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the county. Those in favor of the measure were 52.80 percent, or 9,537 votes, with 47.20 percent, or 8,527 votes against.
