It is with great sadness that the family of Jo Ann Moretz Isenhour announces her passing on December 27, 2024, at Amorem Hospice in Valdese at the age of 90 years.

Jo Ann will be fondly remembered by her children, Gene (Lenora) and Dean (Kristie); her three grandchildren, Brian, Josh (Heather), and Emma Bumgarner (Noah); and great-grandchildren, Ava and Ella Isenhour, and Lilah Bumgarner. She is survived by two sisters, Kay Ray and Bonnie Sherrill, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Grady, several siblings, and a son, Terry.

Jo Ann was born in Alexander County on August 17, 1934, to Joe Moretz and Clara Cline. She lived her life in Hickory and the surrounding area. Jo Ann married the love of her life, Grady Isenhour, on January 7, 1951. She retired from Spectrum Dyed Yarns as a Human Resources Specialist. Jo Ann enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with family.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Burke Mortuary of Newton with interment following at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1497 Airport Rhodhiss Rd, Hickory, NC 28601; or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
